WASHINGTON – All four members of Maine’s congressional delegation addressed an annual breakfast meeting of the Maine Credit Union League, which is part of a national credit union political conference held each year in Washington, D.C.

Credit unions from the Lewiston/Auburn area represented include Otis Federal Credit Union in Jay, Oxford Federal Credit Union in Mexico and Rainbow Federal Credit Union in Lewiston.

With more than 600,000 credit union members, Maine has been the fifth strongest credit union state in the nation for the past four years.

Republican Sen. Olympia Snowe called the fact that nearly one out of two Maine residents uses a credit union “remarkable.”
