AUBURN — The Auburn Public Library has announced the June teen calendar.

Maine Job Corps for teens and new adults, ages 16-24: Contact Hanya Phillips of the Maine Job Corps, 207-450- 0216, to find out more about the program and who is eligible. She will arrange a time to meet at the library.

Teens! Friday Movie: “Alice in Wonderland” (PG), 3 to 5 p.m. Friday, June 2, in the Androscoggin Community Room. The program is for  ages 12-18 and will include a tea party (hot or iced).

Tweens in the Teen Space: From 1 to 3 p.m. Wednesday, June 7, in the Teen Space. Tweens in the sixth grade are invited on the final half-day Wednesday of the year. There will be crafts or board games available.

Teen Anime Club: From 4 to 5 p.m. Wednesday, June 7, in the Androscoggin Community Room for ages 12 to 18. Snacks will be provided.

Teens! Safe Voices Drop-In Visit: From 3 to 4 p.m. Thursday, June 8, for ages 12 to 18 in the Teen Space. Whitney from Safe Voices will visit to chat about relationships and work on projects.

Great Stories Club: “Structures of Suffering: Origins of Teen Violence and Suicide” from 4:30 to 6 p.m. Friday, June 9 in the Teen Space. Teens will discuss the third book in the series, “Romeo & Juliet (No Fear Shakespeare)” and do a related activity.

Great Stories Club: “Structures of Suffering: Origins of Teen Violence and Suicide” from 4:30 to 6 p.m. Friday, June 16, in the Teen Space. In the final meeting of the club in this series, teens will discuss all three books read, complete the survey for the third book and receive their certificate of participation.

Teens! Snack Chat: From 3 to 4 p.m. Monday, June 12, in the Teen Space. Drop by to have a healthy after-school snack and engage in conversation about current events.

Gaming Hour: From 4 to 5 p.m. Wednesday, June 14, and from 3 to 4 p.m. Wednesday, June 28, for ages 12 to 18 in the Androscoggin Community Room. There will be games and snacks and teens are welcome to bring their favorites.

Teens! Vacation Celebration: From 3 to 4 p.m. Wednesday, June 21, in the Teen Space. To celebrate the last day of school, there will be all the fixings for ice cream sundaes and board games. Those attending will learn the details about this year’s teen summer reading program.

Teens! SAPARS Visit: From 3 to 4 p.m. Thursday, June 22, in the Teen Space. Hannah from the Sexual Assault Prevention & Response Services will drop by for crafts, games and conversation.

Teens! Q+A with Outright L/A: From 3 to 5 p.m. Monday, June 26, in the Conference Room. The library has partnered with Outright L/A to offer Queers + Allies, a youth-driven, educational program where LGBTQQAI identifying students and straight allies can work together to create a positive, fun space.

Q+A will create the opportunity for an open and relaxed atmosphere where teens can share in self-expression, exploration, support, and advocacy for political and social change. There will be games, art projects, guest speakers and field trips. Participation in the program counts toward program attendance for the Teen Summer Reading Program, “Build a Better World,” and is open to youth ages 13 to 18, including recently graduated seniors.

Teen Summer Reading Program Kickoff Event: “Build a Better World,” will take place from 3 to 4 p.m. Thursday, June 29, in the Androscoggin Community Room.

Within this summer’s theme, “Build a Better World,” teens will have a chance to explore environmental and sustainability issues and learn what they can do to help build a better world for their generation – and future generations.

Natural Resources Council of Maine staff member Gabrielle Grunkemeyer will talk about NRCM, what’s happening in the environment now, and how teens can help protect it.

The program will run from June 28 to Aug. 10. In addition to reading, programs and activities will include a river walk along the Androscoggin, an opportunity to design a tiny house using Sketch Up and a 3D printer, an up-cycle DIY and a composting workshop.

There will also be a book club again this summer, Pizza & Pages, where teens will read and discuss three books related to the summer theme.
