Fiddle Jam at Greenwood hall

GREENWOOD — The Greenwood Fiddle Jam will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. the second and fourth Fridays of the month at the old Town Hall, Route 26.

The first jam of the season will be held Friday, June 9, with traditional Scottish, Irish Quebecois and contradance tunes. Acoustic instruments are welcome.

The jams continue through September.

Buckfield Historical Society meeting

BUCKFIELD — The Buckfield Historical Society will meet Thursday, June 8, at the Town Hall. Social hour is at 6 p.m. and the meeting at 7.

Donna Grant, owner of Abijah Buck’s house, will speak about what they have done to the house and show items found in it. She will discuss plans they have for the estate and programs they hope to have there. Everyone is welcome.

Duplicate Bridge Club meets

OXFORD — The Oxford Hills Duplicate Bridge Club met June 2 at the recreation hall on King Street for an eight-table Mitchell movement.

Finishing first N/S flight A were Nancy Farmer, Norway, and Misha Tomic, Waterford; second, Norma and Rick Verrill, Gorham; third, Mike Quinn, Otisfield, and Mike True, Auburn; fourth, Richard Balian, Waterford, and Pete Cummings. South Paris.

Finishing first in flights B and C were Barbara Vanderzanden, Waterford, and Marji Levesque, Raymond; second in B were Ellie and Lindy Wigton, Lewiston; third in B, second in C were Linda Smith and Jack Neal of Oxford.

Finishing first in flight A  E/W  were Neanie Kivus, Lewiston, and Fred Letourneau, Winslow; second, Rosemarie Goodwin, Lewiston, and Luke Merry, Norway; third, N. K., New Gloucester, and Paul Kahl, Gorham.

First in flights B & C were Diana and Frank Ferland, Bridgton; second, Elaine Dresser, Bethel, and Arlen Riis, West Paris; third, B.J. and Steve Cavicchi of Bridgton.

The next game is Friday, June 9, at the center on King Street. All bridge players are invited. A partner is guaranteed.

The Weary Club Coffee

NORWAY — Members and friends of the Weary Club will meet at 8 a.m. Saturday, June 18, for coffee and conversation.

Heartsaver CPR and first aid class slated

OXFORD — A Heartsaver CPR and first aid class will be held at 6 p.m. Tuesday, June 20, at the Advent Christian Church, 1130 Main St.

Participants will learn basic first aid, adult, child and infant CPR and the use of an AED. On completion of the one-day class they will received a two-year certification in accordance with the American Heart Association.

The certificate course is accepted for day/childcare providers, loggers, guides, teachers and any other nonhealthcare related professions. Call to confirm the date. Groups may also request to schedule a class at their convenience.

Healthcare BLS CPR re-certifications are done as needed one-on-one.
