LIVERMORE FALLS – Selectmen have a range of items to discuss on their agenda Monday, from the tower clock lighting celebration to a review of anticipated revenues to start the budget process.
The town’s tower clock atop the Sturtevant Building, formerly known as the Bank Building, has been repaired and will be lit at 6 p.m. Friday, Jan. 11, (Jan. 12 snow day), Town Manager Martin Puckett said Friday.
The celebration is a collaboration between the Livermore Falls Downtown Betterment Group, Jay-Livermore Falls Rotary Club, the Jay-Livermore-Livermore Falls Chamber of Commerce and the town.
The event begins at the town office at 5:30 p.m. then will move to view the lighting from the parking lot across from the building on Main Street at 6 p.m., Puckett said.
The contract with clock repairman Jim Bryant of Wayne is for $12,000. Taxpayers raised $5,000 toward the repairs last year, and $7,500 was raised through donations.
Half of the repair bill has been paid, Puckett said, and when the work is completed the remainder will be paid.
Also on the selectmen’s agenda Monday is Puckett’s report on estimated revenues for 2008 and a launch of the budget process.
Additional agenda items include discussions on trash hauler permits, a community enterprise grant, Joseph W. Knapp Trust, and a Safety Committee policy and an executive session for Puckett’s annual evaluation.
