JAY — The Daughters of Isabella Circle 677 from St. Rose of Lima met on Sept. 9 at the parish hall. The meeting was called to order at 6:30 p.m.
Regent Jackie Castonguay asked members to nominate two new ladies to join the group. It was voted to accept Gina Balsamo and Geraldine Ross. The short form conferral was held; the long conferral will be held at a later date. The installation of new officers will be held at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 14. The rehearsal for the installation of new officers will be held on Sunday, Oct. 11, directly after the 8:30 a.m. Mass.
Thank you cards were read from the families of the three deceased members.
New business discussed was the fall bazaar to be held from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m Saturday, Oct. 3, at the parish hall. Members were reminded of the theme baskets for the bazaar; they should bring items to the September social and after the meal the baskets will be put together. Any member that would like to be on a team for the baskets, call Shirley Couture.
It was also mentioned that anyone having items to donate to the bazaar, such as books, white elephant items, cookies for the cookie walk table or food for the food tables, can bring items to the hall on Friday or Saturday, Oct. 2 or 3.
Shirley Couture also spoke about members bringing in items for the Barbara Bush Children’s Hospital for Christmas. Couture goes to the hospital during the first week of December with the gifts for the children.
