LISBON FALLS — The next meeting for Lisbon Community Gardens will be held 6 p.m. Thursday, March 9, in Room 10 of the MTM Community Center.
The Ad Hoc committee will meet to plan the plots for the garden off South Street in Lisbon Falls, where vegetables will be grown and donated to the Lisbon Community food banks. The Lisbon Community Garden includes a children’s herb and tea garden.
In addition, there are five or six raised beds still available for rent for $30 a season. Raised beds are available first to Brunswick HUD residents who reside at Campus Commons, 4 Campus St., Lisbon Falls. These residents must sign up by April 1. Other Lisbon residents must sign up by April 15. Out-of-town residents will be placed on a waiting list and granted rental from available raised beds after April 15.
Those who wish to help in the gardens may attend the meeting and become a volunteer. The Lisbon Daisy Scout troop will be making a presentation to the committee about gardening tools they have collected.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
