LEWISTON — Forbes has ranked the Maine College of Health Professions 15th in its Top 30 Two-Year Trade Schools list.
This is the first time Forbes has created a list looking at two-year trade schools. It considered just over 440 schools and ranked them based on graduates’ earnings, the schools’ affordability and the quality of the education.
The list was released earlier this summer.
The Maine College of Health Professionals has 200 students and is affiliated with Central Maine Healthcare. It offers associate’s degrees in nursing and radiologic technology, as well as a number of certificate programs related to health care.
The college may soon also offer bachelor’s degrees. The Maine Board of Education approved the addition this spring; the college is awaiting final approval from its regional accrediting agency. If approved, the school will start offering a bachelor’s degree for current registered nurses. It hopes to start that program in January 2018.
