NORWAY – George N. Libby III, 81, of Norway, died Monday, May 23, at Stephens Memorial Hospital.

He was born in Groton, Mass., on Oct. 11, 1923, the son of George N. and Nellie Spinney Libby. He attended schools in South Paris and beauty school in Portland.

He had been a beautician for more 50 years, starting with his mother, then with Berniece Peaco at Bunny’s, followed by B. & F. Hair Fashions and Tangles.

He married Ada Carrier on Sept. 3, 1951, and she passed away on June 30, 2004.

He was an avid Red Sox fan and loved golf.

He is survived by a daughter, Sharon Wilson-Cox and her husband, Richard, of Norway; a son, Robert and his wife, Cynthia, of Oxford; three grandchildren, Sean Wilson, Corey Libby and Rene Vallee, all of Oxford; and two great-grandchildren, Ashlee Wilson and Sebastian Vallee.
