LEWISTON — The PB & J Club will begin Saturday, Sept. 30, at Calvary United Methodist Church, 59 Sabattus St., in the triangle of Bartlett and College streets.
Calvary is trying a new concept in family Christian education this year with the Peanut Butter & Jesus Club. Instead of Sunday morning Sunday school for children, the last Saturday of each month will be dedicated to a family time of learning, celebration and fun. Individuals are welcome to attend. Children under 13 must be accompanied by a parent or other adult.
There will be Bible stories, games, crafts, singing and discussion. The first session will focus on beginnings, getting to know one another and group-building through the Genesis story of Creation.
Sessions will run from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., with a light lunch of sandwiches, fruit and beverages provided.
The church is wheelchair accessible. Preregistration is helpful but not required. Walk-ins are welcome.
Regular Sunday services are at 10:30 a.m. Child care for very young children is available on Sundays. Older children attend the service.
Calvary church welcomes everyone.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
