LEWISTON – Clayton E. Coburn, Sr., 89, of 25 Newman St., Lewiston went home to be with the Lord Saturday, Nov. 27.
He was born in Sabattus, Oct. 7, 1915, the son of Albert & Nellie (Booker) Coburn.
He was a resident of Sabattus for 83 years before moving to Lewiston. He was educated in Sabattus schools, and worked in the local woolen mills until his retirement. He was parishioner of the Auburn Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara of Lewiston; three sons, Robert of Mt. Vernon, Sherman and wife, Noella of Lewiston and Clayton Jr., and wife, Beverly of Sabattus; two daughters, Brenda and husband, Richard Weaver of Lenzburg, Ill. and Rebecca and husband, Daniel French of Fitchburg, Mass.; a son-in-law, Ray Martin of Durham; 20 grandchildren; 32 great grandchildren; 4 great great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by one daughter, Gail Martin; one brother, Stanley and two sisters, Thelma Wilbur and Agnes Davis.
