BUCKFIELD – Phyllis Lucinda Beckler, 76, of Buckfield, died in Norway, Saturday, Feb. 7.
She was born in Turner on March 24, 1927, the daughter of Ernest & Bertha (Snell) Sampson. She attended Turner schools and had been employed as a rug designer for the Phyllis Turner Rug Guild for many years. In her early years she enjoyed camping and dancing as well as knitting.
She is survived by: two sons, Gerald “Gerry” Newton and his wife, Grace, of West Paris and Richard Newton and his wife, Rose Anna, of Sumner; five grandchildren, Richard Ronald Newton and his wife, Nancy, of Sumner, Jeffery Warren Newton and his wife, Allison, of Turner, Kenneth Emery Newton of Hartford and Jennifer Marie Newton and Ronald Warren Newton, both of South Paris; three great-grandchildren, Jeffery Warren Newton Jr. and Adreana Newton, both of Turner and Matthew Warren Newton of South Paris.
