AUGUSTA – Dolores J. Bernard, 81, of Maine Veterans Home, died Tuesday morning, Dec. 29, following a long illness. She was born in Mansonville, Quebec, Canada, Sept. 10, 1922 the daughter of Joseph and Pamela (Lessard) Lessard.
Mrs. Bernard was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church, the Ladies of St. Anne Society, St. Paul’s Charismatic Movement, St. Paul’s Cursillo and Cushnoc Senior Citizens.
She had been employed at Bates Manufacturing Company-Edwards Division for over 12 years and prior to that had been employed at St. Augustine’s cafeteria for many years.
Survivors include: a son, Ronald P. Lessard and his companion, Donna Sutter, of Augusta; a daughter, Susan Harris and her husband, Paul, of Augusta; four grandchildren, a great-grandchild and a sister, Geraldine Fournier of Lewiston.
Mrs. Bernard was predeceased by her husband Joseph E. (Perley) Bernard on Dec. 15, 1992 and four sisters: Yvonne Lessard, Julienne Lessard, Marie Jeanne Bechard and Madeleine Theberge.
