HARTFORD, Conn. – Claire “Connie” C. (Hatch) Staples, 81 of Enfield, went home to be with the Lord she loved on Wednesday, Aug. 18, at Hartford Hospital.

She was born on May 18, 1923, in East Boston, Mass., the daughter of the late Howard and Mary (Reynolds) Hatch. She was the widow of Stanley S. Staples (1994). She had resided in Enfield for many years and in Long Island, N.Y., before coming to Enfield.

Prior to her retirement she was employed for many years with the Aetna Insurance Co. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Enfield and served in the church’s AWANA Program for 33 years, she also loved working with children.

She is survived by three sisters-in-law, Esther Mair, of Gorham, Lois Grant, of Littleton, Mass., and Mary Blanchard and her husband, Jim of Charlotte, N.C., and their families; her church family; and many close friends whose love and devotion she cherished.
