At a meeting of the Twin City Local Branch of the N. E. M. P. A. held at Abou Ben Adhem hall in Auburn last night it was unanimously decided that the producers could not afford to raise milk at six cents a quart. The final vote to rise to seven cents, November 1, followed a long discussion whether or not the action would materially affect the standing of the association with the community in which their milk is being sold. The action was taken on account of the high price of grain and the poor quality of hay raised this year.

Four years after it was first introduced in the Lewiston-Auburn area, the Adopt-A-School pro-gram has succeeded beyond even the dreams of Peter Geiger. “It’s been amazing. We’re opening avenues and stimulating the kids’ natural interest in learning,” said Geiger, vice president of sales at Geiger Bros. and organizer of the first business-school partnership in the Twin Cities. Since 1988, when Geiger established a link between his family’s specialty advertising business and Montello School, the size and scope of the Adopt-A-School program has grown steadily.
