LISBON — The Maine Forest Service and the Androscoggin Valley Soil and Water Conservation District will sponsor beginner and advanced GPS classes at Beaver Park on Cotton Road on Friday, August 28.

GPS basics will be taught from 9 a.m. to noon. The advanced GPS session will be offered from 1 to 4 p.m. and will show participants how to take basic skills a step further by
using a GPS and basic mapping programs to build a map of a
woodlot.

Interested participants can sign up for either session or both sessions. GPS units will be provided for the day and participants should not bring their own units. 

Each session will consist of some classroom time and some field time with GPS units. The cost is $10 for one session or $15 for both sessions. Registration is required and payment must be received by Friday, August 21.
