LEWISTON – Lewiston Jr. Maineiacs Squirt Travel hockey picked up two wins and a tie over its four games heading into the holiday weekend.
Biddeford Breakers edged Lewiston, 4-2, at Androscoggin Bank Colisee. Biddeford jumped out to a 4-0 lead before Jeromey Rancourt scored twice, both on assists from Ryley Austin, to mount a comeback.
Lewiston went on the road to blank the Biddeford Sharks, 4-0. Kyle Welsh produced his third shutout of the season in goal. Isaac Dube, Luc Dostie, Justin Keaney and Joseph Bisson scored for Lewiston. Noah Buiniskas notched an assist.
Welsh and Devin Dumont combined for a 4-0 shutout of Central Maine Hornets. Dostie scored late in the first period for the Maineiacs. Cameron Dionne, Conrad Grimmer and Keaney each added a goal. Bisson registered two assists. Dube and Keaney collected one each.
Grimmer scored both Lewiston goals, including the eventual equalizer in a 2-2 deadlock with the New Hampshire Avalanche. Keaney and Austin logged the Lewiston assists.
