INDUSTRY — Norma Jean De Rocle celebrated her 85th birthday at the Industry Town Hall on June 20, surrounded by her family and friends. About 70 attended the meal catered by daughter and son-in-law, Mary Margaret and Lester Butler, and their daughter, Katherine, and son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Eula De Rocle.

Family friend Randy Bruce roasted a pig and Michael De Rocle prepared trashcan turkey. Greeters were grandchildren, Joseph Butler, Katherine Butler and Ryan De Rocle. The hall was decorated in pink and white.

Norma and husband, Joe, danced to the song “Dream” to start the celebration. The band was Lola Lee and the Country Bandits of Jay.

The eldest male and female were recognized at the party by receiving a bottle of champagne. Mary Parlin and Art Bennedetto were the honorees.

To top the evening off, three birthday cakes were served, carrot, red velvet and yellow.

Norma gave a few words of wisdom for all those present, saying she thanked everyone and reminded all to mark their calendars for five years from now when she’ll celebrate her 90th.
