MONMOUTH – Jon Smith netted a pair of goals to lead Dirigo to 4-2 victory over Monmouth in boys’ soccer Wednesday.

Jeff Willis and Tyler Gates also tallied for the Cougars to complete the scoring. Josh Saphire made 16 saves in net to notch the victory.

Devin Robbins tallied both of the Mustangs (3-6-1) goals, while Dylan Reny turned aside 15 shots in net.

Telstar 4, Carrabec 1

BETHEL – Louis Thornton tallied a pair of goals and was credited with an assist as Telstar posted a 4-1 win over Carrabec in boys’ soccer action Wednesday.

Frankie Delduca and Max Meader each contributed a goal and an assist to the Rebels’ win. Gavin Parker played a strong game at defense, making several key plays.

The lone Cobras’ goal was netted unassisted by Nick Caldwell, who booted in a long shot to find the back of the net.

Lisbon 2, Hall-Dale 1

LISBON – Marcus Bubar took a cross from Mike Beaulieu and fired a shot into the net late in the first half to lift Lisbon to a 2-1 victory over Hall-Dale.

Beaulieu also tallied for the Greyhounds (3-6-1) to complete the scoring. Mike Call made 10 saves in net to record the win.

The Bulldogs’ lone goal came from Ryan Lahti in the first half.

Rangeley 2, Buckfield 1

RANGELEY – Steve Banseren and Nels Christiansen scored goals in the first half to lead Rangeley to a 2-1 victory over Buckfield.

Fred Patrick scored for the Bucks (3-6). Chad Allen made 21 saves for Buckfield, while Kent Madera stopped eight shots for Rangeley (7-3).

Hebron 2, Hyde 1

HEBRON – Sasha Romanenko tallied both goals, including the game-winner, to lift Hebron to a 2-1 win over Hyde in local soccer action Wednesday. Charlie Cummings had an assist for Hebron (1-2-1). Will Sorking turned away 13 shots for the win.

Winthrop 1, Wiscasset 0

WISCASSET – Ian Briggs netted the only goal of the match with 24:20 to play in the first half to give Winthrop the 1-0 advantage over Wiscasset in a boys’ MVC soccer contest played Wednesday.

Briggs converted a pass from Chase Hill, who delivered it to midfield, where Briggs booted the ball from about 20-yards out, and found the back of the net for the Ramblers (3-3-2) goal. Mike Gingras was unmovable at keeper, making 13 saves for the shutout.

Mountain Valley 3, Jay 3

JAY – The Mountain Valley and Jay boys’ soccer teams drew to a 3-3 tie in double overtime under the lights in boys’ soccer action Wednesday.

Ben French tallied the first goal for Mountain Valley before Kevin Libby answered with a Jay goal to tie the contest 1-1.

James McLamb and Dylan Stefani got two quick goals for Jay (1-8-1) at the start of the second half, but Mountain Valley’s (0-9-1) Joel Sweetser scored back-to-back goals to tie the game for good at three a piece.

Both goalies had strong performances in their respective nets. Brian Canwell made 14 saves for the Falcons, while Cameron Fry stopped 12 shots for Jay.
