ELLSWORTH – Saco rallied for six runs in the sixth inning to overtake Auburn Suburban, 8-6, in the 11- and 12-year old bracket of the Little League softball state tournament Saturday afternoon.
Saco (3-0) remains undefeated in the five-game round robin tournament.
Sarah Remmes earned the pitching victory, while Jenny Scontras had a strong performance at the plate. Scrontras went 2-for-3 with a pair of runs and an RBI.
Pitcher Kristen Whittaker tossed nine strikeouts for Auburn Suburban (1-2), while going 3-for-4 with a pair of runs and RBIs, including a double in the losing effort.
Chrissi Lewis went 2-for-3 and crossed the plate for a pair of runs.
Auburn Suburban will face Calais in Game 4 at 1:30 p.m. today.
