TURNER – Starting quarterback Tyler Angell ran for three touchdowns, freshman running back Tyler Green ran for two others, and defensive back Tyler Millett ran back an interception for a TD all in the first half as Leavitt thumped Maranacook 64-0 Saturday night.

Green also ran for another score in the second half, and backup QB Evan Barker threw two touchdown passes as Leavitt improved to 3-1 on the season.

Maranacook falls to 0-4.

“I tip my hat to them,” said Leavitt coach Mike Hathaway. “For a young team they should be proud of their effort.”

Green finished the game with 10 rushes for 83 yards and two touchdowns.

Angell rushed seven times for 79 yards and three touchdowns, all in the

first half for the Hornets.

The schedule gets a lot tougher for Leavitt, as they travel to Belfast next

Saturday night.

“We need to work on being sharp,” said Hathaway, “We have three of the top teams in our divison coming up.”

After the Belfast game Leavitt plays host to Gardiner and Waterville.

“This will make us ready for the playoffs.

“We will deserve whatever seeding we get.”
