BRUNSWICK – Tom McMahon hit a three-run homer to boost Bowdoin to a 8-4 victory over Bates.

Nick Lawler went 2-for-5 with two RBI and Jared Lemieux went 2-for-5 with two runs scored, an RBI and a stolen base for the Polar Bears (18-10). Nate Maxwell and Adam Worral each had two hits for Bates (10-12).

UMF sweeps

FARMINGTON – Mary Berry went 2-for-3 with three RBI to propel University of Maine-Farmington to a 9-0 win over Wheelock College in the first game of the doubleheader. Sara Martin also went 2-for-3 with 2 RBI for UMF (10-11). Jakie Daly went 1-for-2 for Wheelock (2-18).

In the second game, it was Holly Tripp who went 2-for-3 with five RBIs to lead the UMF to a 12-0 victory. Lauren Stacey pitched a complete game shutout and struck out four for the Beavers (11-12). Amy Arria gave up seven runs for Wheelock (2-19).

Massachusetts 8, UMaine 5

AMHERST, MA – Aisha Franke went 2-for-3 with three RBI to lead Massachusettes to an 8-5 victory over University of Maine.

Brittany Cheney went 2-for-4 with an RBI for UMaine (18-15). Denise Denis had three RBI and two runs scored for Massachusettes (23-12).
