FARMINGTON – Melissa Roller nailed a running 3-pointer at the buzzer to give the University of New England a 71-70 women’s basketball victory over the University of Maine at Farmington on Tuesday night at Dearborn Gymnasium.

UMF (3-2) rallied from a 43-28 deficit at halftime before falling short. Kari Simpson and Kate LaHaye each scored 17 points to lead the Beavers. LaHaye pulled down 10 rebounds.

Karen Sirois added 16 points and Lydia Coverdale chipped in 13 for UMF.

Roller led all scored with 20 for the Nor’easters (1-3). Missy Stults added 18 and Natasha Dyer 10. Roller’s 3-pointer was the eighth of the game for UNE.
