MONMOUTH – Tyler Somerville scored the winning goal late in the second half after a mad scramble in front of the net as Monmouth defeated Hall-Dale 3-1.
Mark Wade got the Mustangs (11-3) on the scoreboard early in the first half when he headed in Stuart Isaacson’s pass.
Isaacson also assisted Josh McNaughton’s insurance goal with three minutes left in the second half.
The Bulldogs’ (7-6-1) Jon Eiti had converted Sam Shain’s pass to tie the game early in the second half. Goalie Reid Durost had five saves on behalf of his team.
Hebron 5, Gould 0
BETHEL – Yoon Hyung-Lee nailed a pair of goals to lead Hebron in a 5-0 blanking of Gould Academy in boys’ soccer action Saturday.
Dai Miyajima hit a penalty kick and Luke MacDonald converted a relay from Peter Gladstone to give Hebron a 2-0 lead at the half. Jon McInnis chipped in with a second-half goal to complement Hyung-Lee’s pair in the win.
Hebron (3-7) goalie Jeremy Urquhart made 13 saves, while Greg Shroy deflected 10 for Gould (2-7).

Chestnut Hill, M.A.- Curtis Alvorad converted a pass by Mathew Smith to sink Bridgeton Academy’s lone goal shutting out Beaver Country Day School 1-0 Saturday evening.
For Beaver’s effort, Adam Salamon had seven saves for the game.

Holderness 40, Hebron 0
HEBRON – Dan Hale had two short touchdown runs to lead Holderness to a 40-0 rout over Hebron in football action Saturday.
Holderness (5-0) led 32-0 by halftime. Hebron’s record falls to (2-3) on the season.
