LEWISTON – Kelsey Varney converted a pass from Laura Martel twice in the first half to lead Lewiston to a 3-1 win over previously unbeaten Brunswick.
Martel also scored with an assist from Katie Morin for the Blue Devils (4-0-1).
The Dragons (5-1) were led by Laurin Lemieux with a pass from Jennifer Timmerick.
Beth Melanson made five saves in net for the win, while Mctell Barnes stopped four shots in the losing effort.
Buckfield 2,
Windham Christian 0
BUCKFIELD – Candace Allen took a feed from the right wing and booted the ball into the far left corner to lead Buckfield to a 2-0 blanking of Windham Christian in EWC girls’ soccer action Monday.
Chelsea Allen assisted her sister on a goal in the first half, and padded the lead with an unassisted goal in the second for the Bucks (3-2-1).
Bree Reynolds was busy in goal for the Warriors (0-4) with 17 saves, while Ashley Dudley recorded the shutout with a pair of stops for the Bucks.
Maranacook 5, Erskine 2
SOUTH CHINA – Maranacook’s Toby Martin racked up three goals for a hat trick as the Black Bears rolled past the Erskine with 5-2 win in a girls’ soccer.
In the first half, the Black Bears built 3-2 lead and then shut out the Erskine attack in the second half.
For the Eagles, B.J. Dow and Angela Goodrich scored goals. Erskine’s goalie Shannon Proctor made 20 saves for the Eagles.
Boys
Telstar 2, Liv. Falls 0
BETHEL – Peter Poor broke the scoreless contest in the second half to send Telstar to a 2-0 win over Livermore Falls in MVC boys’ soccer action Monday.
The Andies (0-5) played an agressive and physical game, keeping the Rebels off the board until Poor’s goal. Sean Caddigan converted a Kevin Zinchuk pass for a cushion goal down the stretch.
Matt Labbe was solid in net for the Andies with 15 saves, while Terry Collins earned the shutout victory with a pair of saves for the Rebels.
St. Dom’s 5, L. Region 1
AUBURN – Shawn Longley recorded a pair of goals to lead St. Dom’s to a 5-1 win over Lake Region in WMC boys’ soccer action Monday.
Seven minutes after the Saints made it 2-0 in the first half on Brandon Gervais’ goal, Brandon Webb responded with a goal for the Lakers (0-6). However, the second half was completely dominated by the Saints (6-0) with goals from Longley, Dylan Nadeau and John Rutt.
Goalie Duncan Ross deflected 16 shots for the
Lakers, while Nathan Hamlyn made seven saves for the Saints.
Lisbon 1, Hall-Dale 0
FARMINGDALE – John Charette piloted an unassisted goal in the first half for the game’s lone score as Lisbon shut out Hall-Dale 1-0 in MVC boys’ soccer action Monday.
There were several point-blank shots from both offensive squads, but great defense was the order of the day.
Goalie Mike Wilkins made eight saves for the Greyhounds, while Reid Durost stopped seven for the
Bulldogs.
Rockland 4, Oak Hill 2
WALES – Josh Lorenz notched two goals and an assist to lead Rockland to a 4-2 win in a physical contest over Oak Hill Monday afternoon.
Ben Sturkes chipped in with a goal and an assist, while Dean Hale also scored for the Tigers (2-3).
The injury-ridden Raiders (0-5) were led by Pat Duchette, who scored twice, while Jason Guerette was credited with an assist for the losing effort.
Ryan Dow made 16 saves in net for Rockland, while John Daggett stopped 10 shots for the Oak Hill.
Fryeburg 4, Poland 1
POLAND – Fryeburg’s Andrew Jump scored a goal and had an assist as the Raiders defeated the Poland Knights 4-1 in high school boys’ soccer.
Matt Duggan stoped 16 shots for Fryeburg, while Max Levine stoped 14 for Poland. Kevin Young scored Poland’s only goal.
Cape Eliz. 0, Gray-NG 0
GRAY – Cape Elizabeth and Gray-New Gloucester played to a double overtime 0-0 tie Monday.
Cape Elizabeth’s Justin Unger was strong in the midfield, while Dustin Cormier was solid defensively for Gray-New Gloucester.
Derek Bailley made six saves for the Capers, while Tyler Doughty stopped 11 shots for the Patriots.
