AUBURN — Auburn Adult and Community Education has announced their November classes. Enrollment for all classes is still possible and those who wish to enroll are encouraged to call as soon as possible.

“Greek Cooking” will begin on Thursday, Nov. 5, when participants will bake baklava; Greek appetizers will be made on Nov. 12; and Greek holiday pastries will be made on Nov. 19.

“Make It Your Own – Beaded Jewelry” will be held on Thursday, Nov. 5. Attendees will create a two-strand bracelet with earrings using semi-precious stones.

“Introduction to West Coast Swing” is a versatile partner dance beginning on Monday, Nov. 2.

“German New Medicine” will present an overview of a medical model different from Western medicine and different from alternative medicine. Discovered by a German doctor, it will offer a new understanding of diseases based on five biological laws. The class will start on Tuesday, Nov. 3.

“Digital Photo Uses” will start on Tuesday, Nov. 17. Participants will learn how to e-mail photos, create digital photo albums, create slideshows, movies, share online with other family members and learn how to use the camera to get the best possible photos.

“Introduction to Microsoft Excel 2007” will introduce attendees to the spreadsheet system for Windows that allows users to manage, format, chart and analyze data. Those attending must be fully proficient using Windows before taking the class. Class starts on Tuesday, Nov. 3.

“Vinyasa Yoga for Health and Fitness” will incorporate elements of tri-yoga, kundalini, dance yoga and Shiva Rea’s vinyasa flow yoga. Classes will begin on Monday, Nov. 2.

“Tax Considerations for Rental Properties” is for those who own or are thinking of buying a rental property. The class will be presented by H & R Block and will meet on Tuesday, Nov. 3.

“Financial Concerns for Retirement” is for those who are retired or retiring soon. Attendees will learn the top eight IRA blunders, ideas to help an IRA grow, transferring assets to family and more. The class is free and is scheduled to start on Tuesday, Nov. 10.

“Understanding the Web” will cover many aspects of the Web including how to find the history of Web sites visited, viruses, chat rooms, Facebook, MySpace and Craigslist. Classes will begin on Thursday, Nov. 12.

“True Health Through Balancing Your pH” will help participants understand why a balanced pH is the foundation for a healthy cellular terrain and how to achieve that. The class is scheduled for Wednesday, Nov. 18, but space is limited.

“Microsoft Excel 2007 (Intermediate)” will help attendees learn about choosing and correctly designing charts, and learn to automate formatting using macros. The course is a continuation of the Introduction to Excel, using Microsoft approved texts for preparing to take the Microsoft Office User Specialist Exam. Participants must be fully proficient using Windows and have a sound understanding of the basics of Excel before taking the course. Classes will begin on Tuesday, Nov. 24.

“Home Buying Process” is for those who are ready to buy a home or curious about how the process works, including selecting a home, the steps it takes to buy it and the mortgage loan process. Class is scheduled for Wednesday, Nov. 18.

“Real Estate Investing 101” is for those who have ever been curious about what it takes to be a real estate investor. Participants will discover proven and tested investing models and will be provided with strategies and tools to begin building a real estate investment portfolio. All attendees will receive a copy of “The Millionaire Real Estate Investor,” by Gary Keller, and a workbook. Class will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 24.

“Making Changes 101” will teach an overview of how to identify and shift negative life patterns using the Emotional Freedom Technique combined with holistic foods and plant based medicine. Class is scheduled to begin on Wednesday, Nov. 4.

“The Squadron Boating Course” will teach participants the basics of what is needed to safely and comfortably go on the water with a boat. The newly revised comprehensive course includes lessons on seamanship, boat handling, boat types, rules of the road, navigation aids, regulations, adverse conditions, marine VHF radio, knots, trailering and introductory piloting. “Certified Nurse’s Assistant (CNA)” classes will run every eight weeks. Call for more information.
