The Sturgis deputies are again in evidence and yesterday made two successful raids in Lewiston, Deputies Howard and Hayward making the seizures. In the morning, about 11 o’clock, they visited the place said to be run by Leander Lebrun, on Lincoln Street next to the canal. Here they found a hide containing 15 pints of whiskey.
About the middle of the afternoon they called on Mademoiselle Marie Fontaine, a resident of Hines Alley, and found a 16 gallon keg of beer and a considerable quantity of hard stuff.

GREENE — Voters here will decide whether to appropriate $1,000 to develop a petition for withdrawal from SAD 52 to be submitted to the State Commissioner of Education within 90 days.
If Greene voters sanction the $1,000, a committee will be appointed by the selectmen to develop a withdrawal plan. The State Commissioner of Education’s office will have two months to decide whether the plan is a valid one.
If the Commissioner’s office does sanction the plan, it will be brought before Greene voters where it must pass a two-thirds vote to survive.
