J. W. Skene has entered into partnership with Wade & Dunton of this city to carry on an automobile business. The salesroom will be located in the building on Park near Main Street, which is now being fitted up for that purpose.

Bus patrons ride free tonight as the Lewiston Chamber of Commerce stores open their doors to holiday shoppers.
The Chamber has made arrangements to finance all Hudson Bus Lines operating between 6 and 9 tonight and shoppers will be able to ride to and from the downtown area “for nothing.” It marks the first time in the history of the Chamber that such a service has been offered the public.

BUCKFIELD — The consequences of chemical abuse were highlighted at a Drug and Alcohol Student Awareness Program for area high school students at Circle Electrik in Turner last week.
Students from Buckfield High School, Leavitt, Oxford Hills, Telstar and Dirigo High School attended the seminar. A student group from Buckfield, Bucks Against Drunk Driving (BADD), helped plan and conduct the event with 30 from the other schools assisting with presentations and acting as facilitators for group discussions.
The program concluded with a presentation on the importance of self-esteem by Walter Buotte, principal of Oxford Hills High School.
