North Turner Presbyterian elders from left, Ivan "Buddy" Parlin,
Garrick Grant and Ike Goodwin, are pictured grilling chicken at the
church’s 2008 barbecue. The 2009 Annual Chicken Barbecue will be held
on Saturday, Aug. 22 at the GAR Hall, Route 219, North Turner. Serving
will begin at 4 p.m. and go through 7 p.m. or until the food runs out.
In addition to the chicken, several different kinds of salads, homemade
rolls and desserts will be served. Goodwill donations will be taken.
Money from the church suppers helps to keep the church open and allows
its members to operate both the Turner Food Bank and the Clothing
Center as services to the community.
