BROOKLINE, Mass. – Tim Gale carried 32 times for 153 yards and one touchdown to help Northeastern snap a three-game losing streak with a 20-14 win over Maine on Saturday.

Shawn Brady completed 11 of 19 passes for 169 yards, including a touchdown pass, and Miro Kesic kicked two field goals, including one for 46 yards, for Northeastern (5-3, 3-2 Atlantic 10).

Northeastern started the scoring when Brady threw a 13-yard scoring pass to Cory Parks with 2:43 left in the first quarter.

Maine (4-3, 3-2) scored with 4:10 left in the second quarter when Dante Fusco slipped into the Huskies’ end zone and caught a 20-yard touchdown pass from Ron Whitcomb.

Moments later, Northeastern’s Quintin Mitchell took a kickoff and returned it 70 yards to Maine’s 20. Miro Kesic kicked his first field goal 20 yards out with 1:02 left, ending the half with Northeastern up 10-7.

Northeastern went ahead 17-7 with Gale’s 11-yard touchdown run with 8:07 remaining in the third. Maine answered with a seven-play, 77-yard drive that ended when Marcus Williams ran 4 yards for a touchdown with 5:01 left.

BANGOR – Assumption College cruised to a 41-12 win over Husson College.

Kyle Yerma hauled in a 65-yard pass from Joe Correia at 7:40 of the first quarter for the only score the Greyhounds would need.

The Braves lone touchdown came on a 9-yard pass from Lee St. Hilaire to Josh Nolin at 7:36 of the second quarter.
