EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. (AP) – Morten Andersen, the second-leading scorer in NFL history, signed with the Minnesota Vikings on Tuesday.

Andersen, 44, is in his 23rd season. His 2,259 career points trail only Gary Anderson.

, another former Vikings kicker (2,346).

He lost the Chiefs’ job to Lawrence Tynes, who played the past two seasons in the Canadian Football League. Last season Andersen hit 16 of 20 field goals and 58 of 59 extra points.

His longest field goal was 49 yards.

Andersen also has kicked for New Orleans, Atlanta and the New York Giants.
