CHICAGO (AP) – The New York Yankees activated All-Star second baseman Robinson Cano from the 15-day disabled list Tuesday and put infielder Miguel Cairo on the DL with a strained left hamstring.

Cano missed 34 games after hurting his left hamstring while running the bases June 25 against Florida. Batting .325 with four homers and 27 RBIs in 69 games this season, he was in the lineup Tuesday night against the Chicago White Sox.

Cairo, who had to leave Saturday’s game against the Orioles in the third inning, was batting .234 with no homers and 25 RBIs.
