MECHANIC FALLS – Dwinal Chapter 28, Order of the Eastern Star, will meet at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 11, at the Masonic Hall.

There will be a potluck supper at 6:30.

Outgoing Worthy Matron Colleen Tibbetts and outgoing Worthy Patron Bruce MacDonald will give their remarks and preside over the election of the 2009-2010 officers.

AUBURN – Rabboni Lodge 150 will have a business meeting at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 18.

Following the meeting, there will be a Fellowcrafts degree on one candidate.

Kiwanis luncheon

LEWISTON – The Auburn Lewiston Kiwanis Club will have the new member luncheon program at noon Wednesday, March 11, at the Ramada Inn.

Guests who have an interest in joining the organization are welcome to attend. Jonathan LaBonte will speak about the current initiatives of the Androscoggin Land Trust.

Andrew MacIsaac of St. Mary’s Health Systems, Scott Verrill of the Boy Scouts of America and Michael Perreault of Shaw’s will be inducted as new members.

Sandcastle event

LEWISTON – The Sandcastle Preschool Program Foundation will hold its annual fundraiser at 6 p.m. on Saturday, March 21, at Martindale Country Club.

Cost is $40 per person for a buffet dinner, dancing and complimentary wine.

There will be a silent auction held.

Proceeds from this event will benefit the Sandcastle Preschool, which provides early childhood education and clinical services to children with special needs and typically-developing children, and to provide support services to their families.
