Jesus Party announces February gatherings

LEWISTON – The Jesus Party will celebrate its 14th year of children’s evangelism in Lewiston by hosting a variety of events in February. All gatherings will take place at 6 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays at the party headquarters, 291 Bates St. Children age 5 and older are welcome and transportation is available.

Assistant Pastor James Span, will promote racial unity by observing February as Black History Month. Each gathering will include a segment to teach children to live in harmony with one another. The ministry will use lessons, music, videos and related snacks.

Other events will include:

Friday, Feb. 6: Super Bowl excitement with four quarters of faith, food and a little football.

Saturday, Feb. 7: Children will learn about the famous groundhog, Punxsutawney Phil. Information about the science behind the change of seasons, hibernation and shadows will be shared.

Friday, Feb. 13: The ministry will honor the 16th President, Abraham Lincoln, with help from patriotic mentor Jerry DerBoghosian.

Saturday, Feb. 14: A Valentine’s Day social will be held.

Friday, Feb. 20: Harriet Tubman night. Children will be learn about Tubman’s selflessness and contributions to equality and freedom.

Saturday, Feb. 21: George Washington’s birthday celebration, with music, film and cake.

Friday, Feb. 27: Jesus Party anniversary celebration, with music, dance, slide show and food. The community is invited to learn more about the ministry.
