WOODSTOCK – Whitman Memorial Library will hold its 100th birthday celebration from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday, Oct. 13, with the dedication of the crank phone sculpture to take place at 10 a.m. by the post office.
Activities will include a Chinese auction, with ticket sales starting at 11 a.m. and the drawing at 1:30 p.m.
A checkers tournament will be held for age groups 6 to 11, 12 to 15 and 16 to 20. Champions from each age group will play-off for the grand championship. Sign-up will start at 11 a.m. and the games at 11:30. Trophies will be awarded.
Children’s games will run from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., with games starting every half hour. The Firemen and Firemen’s Auxiliary and a Schwan’s truck will be at the library from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
An archery demonstration will be presented by pro archer, Matt Burke, at 12:30 p.m., and the birthday cake will be cut at 1 p.m. The Richard Felt Band will provide music from noon to 2 p.m. There will be food and drink from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
