WOODSTOCK – Martin Sheehan, director of communications, Maine Heritage Policy Center, will be the featured speaker at the Tuesday, Oct. 14, meeting of the Oxford County Republicans at Franklin Grange 124.

A 5:30 p.m. social hour will be followed by a 6:30 supper prior to the speaker and a brief meeting. Sheehan will discuss “It’s Time to Pull the Plug on the Dirigo Health Experiment.” He will also provide an update on the beverage tax referendum designed to repeal the last-minute tax enacted by the Maine Legislature toward the end of the last session. All Republicans and those interested are invited to attend.

At a Sept. 9 meeting held at the Stoneham Congregational Church, Ed McLaughlin and Robert Verrill of the non-partisan Maine Economic Research Institute reviewed the records of Maine legislators in regard to improving Maine’s business climate.
