WOODSTOCK – The Oxford County Democrats held a successful summer barbecue and Family Fun Day at the University of Maine 4-H Camp and Learning Center on Aug. 24.
Maine Attorney General Steve Rowe was the speaker. He introduced the candidates present, including House candidates Rep. Tim Carter, Rep. Terry Hayes, Rep. Sheryl Briggs, Russ Newcomb, District 95, Sen. Bruce Bryant, Charleen Chase, candidate for county commissioner District 1 and Paul Dumas, candidate for judge of probate.
County Chairwoman Cathy Newell spoke on behalf of candidates unable to attend, including Bruce Rood, candidate for register of probate, John Patrick, candidate for county commissioner District 2, House candidates Matt Peterson, running to succeed term-limited John Patrick in District 92, Helen Rankin, candidate for House District 97, Lisa Villa, Senate District 13, and Jim Bradley, House District 100.
Remarks were also delivered by Rep. Janet Mills, a candidate to succeed Rowe as attorney general. Candidates updated attendees on their campaigns.
