LEWISTON – Androscoggin Valley Soil and Water Conservation District is offering a “Farm Energy Conservation Social” featuring a spaghetti supper at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 24, at the USDA Service Center, 254 Goddard Road.

Cost will be $20 an individual or $30 a couple. Preregistration is required by Wednesday, Sept. 10, with payment to Androscoggin Valley SWCD, PO Box 1938, Lewiston, ME 04241.

Efficiency Maine will give a PowerPoint presentation covering topics such as farm energy audits, reduction of energy consumption and financial programs.

USDA Rural Development, Farm Service Agency and Natural Resources Conservation Service will provide information about financial programs available.

During the supper, attendees will be given opportunities to network with other farmers and share ideas that have worked.

In addition to learning about farm energy conservation measures that will help save money, attendees will receive a free CD and/or paper copy of educational and financial information.

Androscoggin Valley district will also offer a homeowners’ energy conservation workshop on Wednesday, Oct. 8, in the Lewiston City Hall Council Meeting Room. More details will be announced.
