LEWISTON – The Maine Women’s Fund is accepting applications for the New Girls’ Network, a leadership community that gives women in their 20s and 30s a chance to unleash their leadership potential, build their networks and explore social change.
“We believe that developing ourselves as authentic leaders does not happen through one-time events, but through an ongoing practice,” said Elizabeth Stefanski, executive director of the Maine Women’s Fund.
As such, the New Girls’ Network is a catalyst to bring a community of women together for a 10-month exploration of philanthropy, leadership, activism and feminism through stories, reflections and dialogue.
Over the course of that time, trained facilitators create learning environments that enable participants to explore what it means to be a woman and a leader, their passion and potential as leaders and activists and the future they want to create as individuals, organizations or community leaders.
By completing the New Girls program, participants join a community of more than 200 women from across Maine who are passionate about creating positive change.
The program is offered in Augusta, Bangor, Lewiston/Auburn, Portland and Rockland.
