LEWISTON – The Sisters of Charity Food Pantry feeds between 250 and 320 families a week and it needs help to continue its service to the community.

Two buses will be outside the Shaw’s in Lewiston and Auburn between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. to accept the food and household supplies needed to stock the pantry shelves.

Items most in need are baby food, formula, diapers, canned and dry pastas, canned meats (tuna especially), and other nonperishable items.

Cash donations are always welcome. With every $1 donation, the Sisters of Charity Food Pantry can provide $12.50 worth of food. An average box of cereal costs the pantry 23 cents. A $5 donation will buy $60 in food.
