TURNER – The Leavitt Area High School chapter of the International Thespians is sponsoring a gift card drive to help the Rural Community Action Ministry of Turner, Leeds and Greene.
International Thespians, founded in 1929, is the honorary organization for high school and middle school theater students. Leavitt’s chapter was begun last year and now has 15 members.
One of the goals of the society is community service and this is a project to help the students reach the goal.
The students are asking people to purchase a gift card from a local store, put the card in an unaddressed holiday card and take it to the Leavitt Area High School Craft Fair from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday, Nov. 12. They can drop the card into the Santa Sack at the International Thespian Booth.
The students will deliver the gifts to the ministry and the cards will be addressed to families who can use the extra help to keep their holidays happy and bright. Anyone who cannot attend the craft fair may drop the cards off at the Leavitt Area High School front office: attention of Penny Appleby, drama adviser.
For more information, call Appleby at 225-4371.
