PARIS – New enrollment for the 2007-2008 year in 4-H is under way and the Oxford County Extension 4-H Youth Education program is looking forward to a big year.
Last year saw increased programming reaching 450 youth. More than 800 youth participated in community/science leadership grants. Educational trips were taken by youth to Boston Science Exploration, Darling Marine Center, Sea Dogs and Fun Town/Splash Town.
Forty-five teens participated in the Sunday River Leadership Teen Conference for three days and 12 members participated in the Edge Program on the University of Maine campus in Orono.
Four-H offers a variety of projects for youth, from livestock to arts and crafts, gardening, forestry and photography. County events include camping, cross country ski day and clinics.
