Society plans fall harvest
LOVELL – The Lovell Historical Society will present “The Fall Harvest,” a program focusing on old-time fall harvesting practices in the region, from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 14.
Pat Williams will demonstrate the operation of a cider press, and John Harmon will have a petting zoo set up with miniature donkeys and goats. Inside the decorated barn, there will be a large bake sale of harvest goodies, a refreshment table, a tool exhibit and pumpkin painting for children.
This year, there will be two additional features: free pony rides for children weighing under 60 pounds and live music.
“Three Birds on a Wire,” comprised of Jenny and Greg Huang-Dale and Jeanine Loubier, will perform during the afternoon.
All are invited to the free event. The society is located in the 1839 Kimball-Stanford House, opposite the Lake Kezar Country Club, Route 5.
