LIVERMORE FALLS – The Livermore Falls-Jay Senior Citizens met at Murray Hall on Sept. 24 with 32 members present. Chairwoman Shirley Couture opened the meeting with a prayer, salute to the flag and a moment of silence for departed members and the men and women in the Armed Forces.
Dora Slovak was reported still on the sick list. It was learned that Joan Knapp is to be sent to the Victorian Villa for assisted living. Members welcomed back Eugene Pomerleau, Joan Lauzier and Shirley Toncer.
Paul Gilbert had contacted Shirley Couture concerning the Gold Leaf Institute for Seniors being held at the University of Maine at Farmington. They have a number of programs and members can contact the college to learn more about them.
Joan Knapp, Jim Williams and Marie Leblanc observe birthdays in September and members sang “Happy Birthday” and at the close of the meeting, cake and ice cream were served.
On Monday, Oct. 1, a bingo game will be held. The 50-50 was won by Lorette Chabot. The meeting adjourned and cards and games were played.
