Rumford Eagles pay homage to veterans
RUMFORD – The Rumford Eagles Club 1248 hosted a dinner and entertainment for all veterans living in local nursing homes on May 10. Veterans who participated were residents of the Maine Veterans Home in South Paris, Rumford Community Home, Canton Victoria Villa, Market Square in South Paris and Ledgeview Nursing Home in West Paris.
The Rev. Ron Ashworth opened the program with a prayer. Also invited were the local town managers, commanders and presidents of the local veterans clubs.
Dave Duguay, manager of Hannaford in Rumford, presented a gift certificate to veteran Tom Burdin of the Maine Veterans Home.

Entertainment was provided by Ned Deroche and a group of country western musicians from the area. The Eagles and Auxiliary members served a meatloaf dinner.
