LISBON FALLS – Lisbon Adult Education summer programs will start Tuesday, June 26, and class registration is under way.
A Maine Driving Dynamics class will take place Tuesday and Thursday, July 17 and 19. A basic computer class for students who have little or no experience in using computers will meet from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. for four weeks starting Wednesday, July 11.
A painting class will meet for from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. for four weeks beginning Wednesday, June 27. Students will paint from photographs or still life objects using watercolor, oil or pastel. The class is open to beginning and experienced painters.
Several decorative painting classes, also known as tole painting, will be offered. Classes will meet from 6 to 8:30 p.m. starting Wednesday, June 27. A variety of projects will be made. Each class is taught step by step and no art experience is necessary. Visit the Adult Education office in Lisbon high School to see samples of the projects. Sign up for individual projects.
An English literature and composition class will start on Monday, June 25. The class will meet from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Mondays and Wednesdays and may be taken for high school diploma credit.
A math refresher class will begin Monday, June 25. It is intended for adults who would like to refresh math skills needed for employment or in preparation for college placement classes. The class will meet for seven Tuesdays from 2:30 to 5 p.m. and from 6 to 8:30 p.m.
Adults must be 18 years old to take the General Educational Development tests. Accommodations are available for students with disabilities. The GED prep class to help students prepare to take their GED tests will meet from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesdays starting June 27.
The Plato Learning Lab will be open from 6 to 9 p.m. starting Monday, June 25. The lab may be used to refresh knowledge in a wide range of academic subjects and may also be used to earn high school diploma credits.
