LEWISTON – Planet Cheer recently attended the Cheerleaders of America Open National Cheering Championship held in Niagra Falls, N.Y.

The Planet Cheer Junior Level 3, Senior Level 2 and Senior Level 4 teams all took home first-place finishes in their divisions, while the Planet Cheer Co-Ed Open Level 6 earned a third-place finish, narrowly missing second by .25 points.

Along with their first-place division wins, the Planet Cheer Junior Level 4, Senior Level 2 and Senior Level 4 teams also earned titles of national grand champions by scoring the highest in each of their levels.

Senior Level 2 team also cheered their way to the highest score of the entire day.

Planet Cheer was also headed to Hershey, Pa., before traveling to Baltimore, Md., where they have earned full paid bids to compete at Final Destination.

Planet Cheer will wrap up their 2007 season on Saturday, May 12, at Lewiston High School where they will hold their annual Friends and Family Day. For more information, visit www.fortierfamilycheercenter.com.
