BERLIN, N.H. – The Coos County Family Health Services board of directors have announced that Shirley C. Croteau of Berlin has been selected as the recipient of the 2007 Sylvia Evans Citizenship Award.
The award is presented annually to a woman in the community who has made an outstanding contribution to the well being of women and families in the North Country.
In her letter of nomination, Gloria Tremblay stated, “Shirley is a caring, devoted and giving person. In all that she does, she gives completely, unpretentiously and lovingly. Shirley is compassionate, and when she gives of her time, experience, knowledge and talent, she never expects recognition in return.”
Croteau retired five years ago from Public Service of New Hampshire after 30+ years. She is a volunteer for many organizations in the area and also knits and donates prayer shawls.
Croteau will receive her award at 7 p.m. Friday, May 11, at the New Hampshire Community Technical College.
