Black Friday can be one of the most hectic shopping days of the year, especially in big cities, like New York, where madness got out of control. An employee of a New York Wal-Mart died on Black Friday. He was trampled to death.
Black Friday can also be a day of good deals and bargains, but you have to be prepared for those early morning hours. It also comes in handy if you know what you’re going to get.
Most stores get an early start and open anywhere from 4 to 6 a.m. Some people won’t bother to get up at five just to get deals at K-Mart or Wal-Mart, but some people did this year, including me.
Some of the deals were amazing, but the lines at some stores were ridiculous and not worth the wait, like at K-Mart and Kohl’s. We got the best deals and the quickest lines at Wal-Mart and the longest lines were at Kohl’s.
Black Friday can be a great way to get better deals on gifts for whatever holiday you celebrate. Some tips you can use on Black Friday to help your shopping go better are…
1. Start at the store that you need the most at or where the thing is that is most important that you need to get is and work your way down.
2. Get up early and leave yourself some extra time for traffic problems or other delays.
3. Make sure you have everything that you need to be prepared for the day.
4. Expect to be tired afterward if you aren’t used to getting up so early.
I think that shopping on Black Friday isn’t for people who get claustrophobic easily, but it’s a great way to save money and probably not many places in Maine are that dangerous for Black Friday shopping.
