Swans Island is an awesome place for people to visit if they want to learn about the history of the island, along with James Swan. Also Swans Island is a great place for people to visit because there are so many activities that can be done. Even though Swans Island is a advertursome and “exotic” place for people to visit it is not for everyone. Swans Island also attracts people to it because it is supposedly haunted.

Swans Island was first colonized first by the Native Americans who lived on the island. Then in 1786 James Swan went to the Island which was later named after him. James Swan was a Son of Liberty, and he was in the famous Boston Tea Party. James Swan traveled the world and brought back his knowledge to bring saw mills to the island which then brought people to the island. On one of Swan’s trips he was put in jail for going against the law of France. After about twenty years in jail James Swan was released. After he was out of jail he suddenly died. This is the history of James Swan and how the island was founded.

On the island there is many activities to do. On the island you can bike and hike through the forest and mountains. You can also do water sports like sea kayaking or boating. Finally on the island you can swim in the summer on the sandy beaches, that is if you can bare the cold Atlantic waters. These are the many activities you can do on Swans Island.

Island life is not as normal as any small town, or big city. Some of the things that people don’t like about island life is that there is no phone except for a couple of phone booths. Also there is only one fairy to take you to the main land which for some people is the only way off of the island. Also for some people island life can be boring because there is no shopping or city night life. This is why island life is not for everyone.

Swans Island is supposedly haunted. One story is about a woman who is carrying a baby in her arms that walks through the

mud flats of the island. Locals say that they have seen many other ghost but the story of the woman with the baby is the most famous. People who live on the island are not afraid of the ghost and say that they do not bother them. Although Swans Island is supposedly haunted and people claim to have seen ghost they still live on the island.

Swans Island can be for everyone. If you like history Swans Island has that with the stores of James Swan and the history of the island. If you like doing activities then you can bike or hike, swim, or even go sea kayaking. Finally, Swans Island can be for everyone, say if you are a fan of ghost sightings then you can go to Swans Island and see the ghost. For whatever reason you are on the island there is always something to do for many people.
