AUBURN – Lewiston/Auburn Community Little Theatre will hold classes for children in grades four through eight at a children’s musical theater. Classes will start Wednesday, Oct. 12, and will be held at the theater from 5 to 7 p.m. every Wednesday.

Registration is $65 a child and will be accepted at the box office at 783-0958. Space is limited to the first 20 registrants.

Participants will be exposed to a wide range of theatrical aspects, which they will apply toward a unique, student-written short production for family and friends on Dec. 16 at Leavitt Area High School, Turner. CarlaRose Ricciuti and Jim Raymond will work as a team instructing the students.

Ricciuti will teach the theater portion of the classes. Topics covered will include “The Ten Elements of Acting,” script reading, stage direction, pantomime, improvisation, auditioning and character development. These topics will be introduced to students through fun games and creative activities.

Ricciuti most recently appeared at Community Little Theatre as Tzeitel in “Fiddler on the Roof,” and prior to that as Felicia Dantine in “I Hate Hamlet” and Mrs.Chauvenet in “Harvey.”

She has been involved in many aspects of theater the past 14 years, including teaching performing arts classes at the middle school level.

She studied musical theater while at college and attended acting and vocal workshops given by Broadway actor Dave Clemmons.

Raymond will conduct the musical portion of the classes. Students will learn how to properly warm up, vocal techniques and sing songs from popular musicals.

Raymond is the music teacher at Webster Intermediate and Lake Street Elementary schools. He has worked with CLT for the past three years, performing in show orchestras and assisting in various technical aspects. His most recent shows were “Scarlet Pimpernel,” “Man of La Mancha” and “Fiddler on the Roof.” Raymond produced and directed the children’s musical “Honk Jr.,” which was performed by 30 local children during the summer.
